Word Finding
- English -> Chinese
1. Input English word.
2. The results will be shown on result panel.
3. Press 'Enter' to save input word to drop down list.
- Chinese -> English
1. Make sure that Chinese input method (such as MS IME, SCIM for linux,etc...) was already installed on your computer.
2. Input Chinese word.
3. The results will be shown on result panel.
4. Press 'Enter' to save input word to drop down list.
*if you can't type Chinese, you can copy(Ctrl+c) chinese word from other text editors and paste(Ctrl+v) it to Input box instead.
- Pinyin -> English
1. Input pinyin. (need space between word)
2. The results will be shown on result panel.
3. Press 'Enter' to save input word to drop down list.
- Pinyin words must have space between sound and tone number (e.g. wo3, ke3 ai4).
- Use '5' for no tone level (e.g. de5 = 的).
- Type 'v' instead of 'u:'. (e.g. nv3 = 女).
Font Configuration
HanYu Dictionary uses Simsun as a default Chinese font and Arial as a default English Font. But you can also change them to other fonts (We didn't find suitable font for linux yet) . You can change font by the following instructions...

Language Configuration
Now HanYu Dictionary supports 2 languages, which are English and Chinese. You can change application language by the following instructions
